The Department of Psychiatry at Miri Piri Institute of Medical Science & Research is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental health disorders, addressing the psychological and emotional well-being of patients with compassion and confidentiality. Clinical services include management of depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, sleep disorders, dementia, and stress-related illnesses. The department provides counselling, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and de-addiction services, supported by modern diagnostic tools and a multidisciplinary approach involving psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists.
Specialized care is available for child psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, marital & family counselling, and crisis intervention. A 24×7 emergency response system is in place for psychiatric emergencies, including suicidal ideation, severe withdrawal, and acute psychosis.
