The Department of Pediatrics at Miri Piri Institute of Medical Science & Research is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring safe growth, development, and management of childhood illnesses. With a strong focus on preventive care, early diagnosis, and advanced treatment, the department combines compassionate care with clinical expertise.
Equipped with modern neonatal care units, pediatric ICU, and specialized wards, the department is capable of handling both routine pediatric care and critical emergencies. Services include newborn screening, immunization, growth monitoring, nutritional counselling, management of infectious diseases, asthma and allergy treatment, and pediatric emergencies. Specialized care is also provided for neonatal resuscitation, low-birth-weight babies, congenital disorders, and developmental delays.
Alongside patient care, the department is structured with the vision of becoming a teaching and academic hub as the institution transitions into a medical college. This ensures that students will receive structured exposure to child health, growth and development, neonatology, and pediatric sub-specialties in a high-volume clinical environment.
