The Department of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care at Miri Piri Institute of Medical Science & Research provides vital support to all surgical and medical specialties, ensuring safe anaesthesia delivery, comprehensive pain management, and expert care for critically ill patients. Services include pre-anaesthetic evaluation, general and regional anaesthesia for routine and complex surgeries, pain management, sedation services, and critical care support. The department plays a key role in all major and minor surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, neurosurgery, urology, ENT, and emergency surgeries.

The Critical Care Unit (ICU) is equipped with modern ventilators, advanced monitoring systems, infusion pumps, and round-the-clock medical supervision. It manages patients with multi-organ failure, sepsis, trauma, respiratory failure, cardiac emergencies, and post-operative critical cases, ensuring optimal outcomes.

Emergency anaesthesia and resuscitation services are available 24×7 for trauma, accidents, and acute life-threatening situations. The department is also being developed to serve as a teaching and training hub, offering structured exposure to anaesthesia, intensive care, and perioperative medicine.
